June 24-26, 2016 Myrtle Beach Sports Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

We are scheduling the tournament a few weeks earlier than in past years to shorten the "archery season" a bit. Some coaches and parents become a bit overwhelmed by archery starting in the fall and continuing through July the next year.

As we consider locations we think about:
1. Attractiveness to foreign archers and parents.
2. How strong NASPĀ® is in the region (I know, this can be a chicken/egg proposition)
3. Venue dimensions
4. Availability of tournament volunteers (SC DNR has graciously agreed to recruit volunteers)
5. Venue cost

We considered: Disney, St. Louis, Madison, Des Moines, Nashville, Indianapolis, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Jackson, Mississipi, Kansas City, KS, Houston, TX and others.

We didn't consider some of these very long for one reason or another.

Criteria #1 is the most challenging by the way. The national tournament's draw is the event itself. The world tournament however, is more dependent upon the venue location as family vacations are often figured into planning for the archers. When one brainstorms about international destinations in the U.S. the list isn't as long as I thought it would be: Grand Canyon, Disney, NYC, Seattle, Nashville, ????

The world for 2017 has not been decided yet but will likely be determined by next winter. If any of you want to suggest a location that will be attractive to US, Canada, Africa, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia, etc. please feel free.

The 2016 All Star championship will return to South Africa around the 10th of July so it will be a tight turn around for all star archers at worlds on to Africa.

As is our practice, we will be planning on the 2016 Coordinator's Conference being the Monday-Wednesday immediately prior at a location as near the tournament venue as possible.

Sincerely,
Roy Grimes
